Late 19th Century Guillotine Cigar Cutter

Late 19th-century French guillotine-style cigar cutter crafted in mahogany with brass and steel fittings. This functional tabletop cutter features a vertical blade mechanism weighted with a brass block, designed to deliver a precise, clean cut to cigar tips. The structure includes twin uprights joined by a shaped pediment, with a steel guillotine blade and brass counterweight sliding smoothly within the frame. The mahogany platform incorporates a shaped rest for the cigar, a semi-circular receiving cup, and support struts in patinated brass. A rare and decorative example of tobacco-related paraphernalia from the Belle Époque era. Dimensions: depth 6.3" (16 cm), width 9.5" (24 cm), height 16" (40.5 cm).
