A handsome French gilt metal table lamp, circa 1950–1970, designed in the neoclassical taste. The sculptural body is formed as a dramatic spray of stylized foliate elements, evocative of a pineapple crown, lotus blossom, or papyrus leaves, rising from a square architectural pedestal accented with a pierced gilt gallery and set upon a stepped plinth base. Drawing inspiration from classical, Empire, and Egyptian Revival design, the lamp beautifully balances graceful organic forms with crisp geometric lines, creating a timeless and sophisticated silhouette. Beautifully crafted with a warm gilt finish, it is equally at home in traditional, Hollywood Regency, or contemporary interiors. Newly wired for modern use and fitted with a custom linen drum shade. An elegant decorative lighting piece with enduring French style.
